Hey Girls!

My name is Heather Halpin Benkley. I have experienced what a lot of you may “dream” about becoming . . . being a Model!

My exposure to the world of modeling began at an early age. My mother was the owner of a very exclusive modeling agency and school in Texas. Top models such as Kelly Emburg were discovered out of her modeling agency and later went on to be “Super Models” in New York. Also, several “Miss USA” winners were members of her agency.

As a result of my mother’s many connections in the modeling industry, I was presented numerous opportunities. My career as a Model included Runway, T.V. Commercials and Print work. Some of the designers, stores and magazines for whom I modeled were CHANEL, Abercrombie and Fitch and Bride’s Magazine. In addition to being a Model, I was a finalist and talent winner in the “Miss Texas America Pageant.”

But at the age of thirteen, something even greater happened in my life. . . I was filled with the Holy Ghost and baptized in the name of Jesus! My family was Catholic and my mother did not approve of my going to a Pentecostal church. But some how, God would always make a way for me to attend! My youth leader would pick me up for every service and bring me home. It was my desire to be in church services and activities more than anything else in this world!

Upon graduation from college, my mother began training me to take over her modeling agency and modeling school that she had owned for over twenty years. Wanting to please my mother, like all girls do, I tried living the life that she had hopes and dreams of my living . . . but couldn’t!

You see, I never could forget the experience I had with God as a teenager! So in 1988, I made a Choice . . . regardless of the cost , regardless of my Modeling Career or what my family and friends would think of me, regardless of my mother’s wishes . . . I gave my life 100% to God and began working in His Kingdom! Yes, I gave it all up to live for God!

Girls, in life you are going to be faced with many choices . . . Being a “Model for Jesus” is the best “dream” that could ever happen to any one . . . Take it from me . . . Living for God is worth any self-denial or sacrifice you make. So Girls, “Be a Model for Jesus”! It’s the only way that you can really make it to the top!
